# Plans and usage

> Self-Serve is a fixed monthly subscription with a cap on new listeners each billing cycle.

Self-Serve bills as a **fixed monthly subscription**. Each plan includes a cap of new listeners for the current billing cycle.

Compare plans on [Pricing](https://getsoundlink.com/pricing?plans=self-serve) or under **Settings → Subscription → Manage plan**.

## The usage meter

On **Settings → Subscription**, **New listeners on Soundlinks** shows used / cap for this cycle.

* Counted **once per Soundlink**
* Updated every couple of hours
* Resets at the end of the billing period. The date next to the meter is in UTC.

The sidebar **New listeners** bar is the same cap.

## When you reach the cap

If you reach the cap, new listeners stop being counted until the cycle resets. Existing Soundlinks keep working. Ads you run on Meta are unchanged.

To keep counting this cycle, [buy extra listeners](#extra-listeners). To raise the included cap on later cycles, upgrade on **Manage plan**.

## Extra listeners

A workspace **owner** or **admin** on a paid Self-Serve plan can buy extra listeners from **Settings → Subscription → Buy extra listeners**.

| Limit | Value |
| - | - |
| Price | **\$0.08** per listener |
| Minimum | **1,000** |
| Increments | **100** |
| Valid until | Your next renewal. The date in the dialog is in UTC. |

Extra listeners add to your plan cap for the current cycle only.

If you then upgrade, unused extras are dropped — the upgrade starts a **new billing period**.
